Flooding

The St. Johns River is under a flood warning until further notice after record rain in Brevard County

If you live along the St. Johns, the water is still on its way. A flood warning continues until further notice after record rainfall earlier this month. Parts of Brevard County got more than 2 feet, and the runoff continues to move through drainage systems, retention ponds and canals, much of it toward the Indian River Lagoon or the Basin.

The St. Johns drops about an inch per mile, so water moves slowly

Feeding community cats 🐾🙏Neighbors, need advice or help

“Jello everyone I'm currently caring for 6 stray/feral cats in our neighborhood alongside my 2 indoor pets. It's getting tough to afford food for all 8 of them. Right now, I'm stretching the dry cat food by mixing it with noodles because of budget constraints, and they are so hungry they devour everything instantly!…”

High school football season ... WILL CONTINUE!, on Osceola News Gazette

Four Osceola teams hoped to get in, and three did as the FHSAA announced its 2026 high school football playoff brackets on Friday. Gateway (8-2) and St. Cloud (6-4)secured berths in the Florida Invitational Tournament, and will play on Thursday. And despite Osceola (3-7) had its fewest regular season win total in more than two decades, an extremely tough district (four playoff teams came out of District 5A-6) and overall schedule (eight playoff opponents) was enough to earn the Kowboys the No. 3 seed in Region 6A-2 and a Friday home game.
