- ➤ The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens will celebrate its 50th anniversary next month with a limited-time historical gallery in the Wayne Densch building—featuring photos, milestones, and behind-the-scenes moments from its history. The zoo will offer discounted throwback ticket prices—adult and senior tickets at $19.75 and child tickets at $16.75—to thank the community. WKMG
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Seminole County deputies arrested Yunier Batista-Pena, 43, and Javier David Carralero-Vidal, 28, on Tuesday at a Sanford Sam’s Club on Rinehart Road after a tip led them to find the men using fraudulent EBT cards to buy coffee pallets, with receipts linking them to similar activity at a nearby Walmart—both face charges of fraud, grand theft, embezzlement, identity theft and, for one, fentanyl possession. - ➤ U.S. Rep. Maxwell Frost introduced the SUDEM Act on June 18 to require ICE detention centers to report who is detained, where, when, and why they are held+ and to protect due process rights.
