- ➤ A July fire destroyed the home of Sanford couple Ed and Dana Eastabrooks and took their pets. The community—led by Hopkins Meat Market, which raised over $17,000—donated more than $57,000 from friends, families, and strangers to help them rebuild. WESH
- ➤ Registration is now open for Sanford's Golden Age Games that will take place in late October and is open to competitors ages 50 and up—these events include table tennis, swimming, archery and shuffleboard and serve as a qualifier for state senior games. Registration ends October 5. WESH

- ➤ Seminole County Animal Services warns residents to protect their pets as coyote sightings have increased—officials advise securing garbage, bringing pet food indoors, and keeping pets on leashes to lower risks. WFTV
