Two puppies abandoned outside Seminole County Animal Services were quickly adopted by a local firefighter and teacher who named them Koda and Luna.
Shelter staff said it remains unclear who left the puppies outside the shelter (raising concerns over proper drop-off procedures).
Black bears have been seen more often in Butchertown as growth pushes them from their homes and one resident hurt her ankle while running from a bear.
Residents are split on whether to support hunting or relocation + local officials have not yet taken steps to control the sightings.
