Seminole County leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday at 1021 E.
2nd St in Sanford to launch Phase II of Sanford Courtyard, an affordable housing project backed by $1.6 million from the county’s Community Services Department—designed by the nonprofit Central Florida Home for Good to serve local workers facing homelessness.
The Seminole County Board approved a property tax increase Wednesday night to raise funds for repairs, public safety and services—while many residents voiced concerns about rising costs.
The measure is not final as another public hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23 to allow further discussion.
