CRIME NEWS

  • Sanford police arrested Robert Eugene Curry III after he exposed himself to a customer at Dollar General at 3530 Sanford Ave on Aug 10—he is a registered sex offender on felony state probation and now faces charges for indecent exposure and probation violation.  WKMG

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Galileo School for Gifted Learning’s Skyway campus used a Blue School Grant from the St. John’s River Water Management District to let 200 students learn by building water filters and exploring Blue Spring State Park—teachers are now planning new projects to study local water challenges like Lake Monroe.  WKMG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Christina Hollerbach, a longtime Sanford resident and business leader, announced her intent to run for mayor in 2026 on Thursday. She said she will address water quality, infrastructure and flooding issues while working with local leaders — a formal campaign filing is expected in November.  FOX 35 Orlando
