- ➤ Downtown Sanford’s new flood mitigation system failed during Tuesday’s heavy thunderstorm after over 3 inches of rain fell in one hour—local streets and businesses, including Hollerbach’s, flooded and city officials cited a wiring error and incomplete grading work as causes. WFTV
- ➤ Seminole County officials are considering raising the local gas tax from 7 to 12 cents per gallon to fund transportation projects—improving safety and access across the county. The board will vote on the proposal next Tuesday and, if approved, the new rate will take effect Jan. 1, 2026—matching Volusia County’s rate. FOX 35 Orlando
- ➤ Drivers in Seminole County may soon pay more for gas as the board considers raising the 7-cent tax by 5 cents to fund transportation projects. The board will vote on Tuesday and if approved the new 12-cent rate will start on Jan. 1, 2026 — the change is expected to impact how drivers budget for fuel. WKMG
