EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Seminole County Schools is asking for new and unused school supply donations at five library branches until Aug 23—items will support Tools 4 Seminole Schools in providing essential supplies to low-income and underserved students. WFTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Work is underway to lower the speed limit to 35 mph on SR-46 from Upsala Road to U.S. 17/92 in Sanford. The project features traffic calming measures such as chicanes and new pedestrian crossings, with alternating single lane closures until August 9th (construction will finish in early 2026). WKMG
- ➤ Seminole County plans a new indoor sports complex near Sanford Airport—covering about 200,000 square feet and set to host sports, dance, and small conventions—to boost sports tourism. The project, funded by a fee of $1.75 per hotel room per night, will begin construction in early 2027. WESH
