Good morning, Sanford.

On June 28, a 31-year-old woman died when an alligator bit her while swimming near Barr Street trailhead at Little Big Econ State Forest; her family later faced harsh online comments even as friends recalled her warm spirit.

Stormy weather and high temperatures will affect the region this holiday weekend.

Showers are forecast Friday and Sunday with a 70% chance, while early rain will clear by Saturday evening and highs will reach 93 degrees.

Florida Department of Transportation and Florida Highway Patrol advised drivers to check vehicle functionality, use Florida 511 to plan routes, and yield to Road Rangers as Fourth of July weekend traffic is expected to increase.
