- ➤ Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma asked the county commission for a $16 million budget increase (9% overall) to boost deputy pay and benefits as he said rising labor costs and shifting career moves had lowered starting salaries. The commission noted that the request could lead to hard budget choices while the county finalizes a $1.2 billion budget that will start Oct. 1. WESH
