Sanford will soon welcome its first Costco at Seminole Towne Center as part of a multi-million-dollar redevelopment project, according to county records.
The proposed warehouse could span over 156,000 square feet with a parking lot for 847 vehicles—making it one of the largest in the area.
🏛️ Government
Nearly three years after Hurricane Ian damaged the marina, the city is asking FEMA to reconsider its lower funding proposal and provide clear policy explanations—Mayor Woodruff said repairs costing about $18 million remain on hold until an agreement is reached.
City staff are working with engineers and a FEMA specialist to meet current codes, and alternative funds may be used if FEMA does not cover all costs.
