- ➤ Over the past five years, the Sikh Society of Central Florida has donated more than 100,000 meals by serving between 300 and 400 unhoused people every Sunday in Orlando and Sanford. The nonprofit relies on between 15 and 20 volunteers and donations from its congregation — it also organizes seasonal drives for hygiene kits, blankets, school supplies and blood. WESH
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 17-year-old who fired into a crowd at Cabana Live in Sanford on April 28, 2024 and injured 10 people was sentenced on April 28, 2025 to 10 years in prison—he also faces five years' probation and a mental health treatment requirement while his appeal is pending. FOX 35 Orlando
- ➤ Christopher Bouie Jr., 17, accepted a plea deal today for charges linked to the April 28 shooting at Cabana Live that injured ten people and was sentenced to 10 years in Seminole State Prison with 5 years of probation—his case will be transferred to adult court on May 13. WESH
