- ➤ Sanford city leaders have approved a Costco development at Seminole Towne Center, where Macy’s once operated, to boost activity in the mall area. The 150,000 sqft project will include a fuel station plus liquor store and will begin construction later this year if the final plan is approved. WESH

- ➤ Seminole State College is celebrating CTE Month with free events. Attend today's career fair at Sanford/Lake Mary campus from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. + other events include a fair on Feb. 17 at Altamonte Springs, one on March 3 at Heathrow and Seminole State at Night on Feb. 25. WESH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Legislators are debating a bill to extend the smoking ban to outdoors, covering sidewalks, parks, beaches, and areas near schools and hospitals. The new law (if passed) would take effect this summer and has drawn mixed reactions from residents. WESH
