Good morning, Sanford.

Sanford celebrated Historic Goldsboro Day Monday night by unveiling a quilt at City Hall to honor one of the first self-governing Black communities founded 135 years ago—Mayor Art Woodruff apologized for past actions that took away Goldsboro's independence and promised to honor its legacy.

Sanford City Commission approved a redevelopment plan for Seminole Towne Center that calls for demolishing the old Macy's building to make way for a wholesale retail hub & boost local property value.

The developer will submit a sealed plan next, and the rezoning will expire if infrastructure is not completed within three years.
