- ➤ Hundreds of dead fish and several turtles were found in a Sanford pond near a construction project on Jan. 5, prompting concerns over local wildlife and water quality. - ➤ Residents saw hundreds of dead fish near a drained pond at a construction site near SR-46 and Harvest Time Drive on New Year's Day — residents noted an overwhelming smell.
