About this event

Come on an adventure at OMA! Join us for a workshop that features a hands-on art activity in the studio followed by a visit to the gallery. Explore materials and techniques in a stimulating and inviting environment that fosters engagement and creativity for young children and their favorite grownup! Ideal for children ages 2-10.

• Friday, November 6: Habitat Heroes

• Journey into the exhibition, The Wild Path: Connecting the Florida We Don’t See , and discover the conservation photography of Carlton Ward Jr. See and learn about the habitat of the Florida panther and how artists like Ward are helping to save its home. Create your own panther using air dry clay and design a shoebox diorama for its environment, embellished with natural materials.

• Friday, December 4: Greetings from The Sunshine State!

• There is no better gift this holiday season than a postcard work of art inspired by the Sunshine State! View the exhibition, Floridiana: Vintage Treasures & Oddities From The Sunshine State and discover how Florida’s identity as a tropical paradise and tourist hot spot came to be in part thanks to the decorative and utilitarian artwork being designed. Draw, paint, print, and collage a postcard that best showcases your favorite parts of our beautiful (and sometimes wacky) Florida!
