About this event
Nutrition is often discussed in terms of what we eat, but nourishing our health goes beyond the food on our plates. Our nutrition and overall well-being are influenced by many factors, including our lifestyles, daily routines, stress levels, sleep, finances, food access, and cultural backgrounds. These factors can shape the choices available to us and influence how we approach food, health, and wellness in our everyday lives. Understanding these connections can help us make more informed decisions and develop a healthier relationship with nutrition.
Nourishing Wellness: Building Nutrition Literacy for Everyday Life is a 90-minute virtual workshop designed to help participants better understand nutrition and its connection to everyday well-being. Through education, guided discussion, reflection, and practical information, participants will explore the foundations of nutrition literacy, learn how nutrition connects to stress, sleep, lifestyle habits, and overall wellness, and build confidence in navigating nutrition information.
Together, participants will explore how everyday circumstances can influence our food choices and nutritional habits. The workshop will highlight the role of culture, finances, food access, personal preferences, and individual circumstances in shaping our relationships with food. Participants will also have an opportunity to consider how nutrition fits into their daily routines and how small, realistic changes can support their overall well-being.
Rather than approaching nutrition through a one-size-fits-all perspective, this workshop encourages participants to recognize that everyone's nutritional needs, experiences, and circumstances are different. It creates space to explore wellness in a way that feels practical, approachable, and relevant to everyday life.
Through conversation, reflection, and practical takeaways, attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of nutrition literacy and the many factors that influence their food choices. Participants will gain greater confidence in identifying reliable nutrition information, making informed everyday food choices, and recognizing how nutrition can support their overall health and well-being.
