For November, The Well-Read Cat People of Orlando are diving into something a little different with Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt—a warm, funny, mysterious story about friendship, loss, second chances, and one remarkably intelligent giant Pacific octopus named Marcellus.

After the death of her husband, Tova Sullivan begins working the night shift at the local aquarium. There she forms an unlikely friendship with Marcellus, who happens to be considerably more observant about the humans around him than they realize.

Tova’s son mysteriously disappeared more than 30 years ago, and Marcellus may have figured out something that could finally help her uncover the truth.

We reserve our cat-lounge time together in advance so everyone who signs up has a spot waiting for them rather than risking the lounge being full when we arrive.

Because your cat-lounge spot must be reserved and paid for in advance, the $16 RSVP fee is nonrefundable. If you’re unable to attend after reserving, we unfortunately cannot refund your payment.

☕🍸 Food and drinks are not included in the $16 fee, but The Kitty Beautiful has food, coffee, cocktails, and other drinks available for purchase while we’re there.
